Lakhimpur Kheri, March 16 -- In a rare and dramatic incident, a 30-year-old man fought off a leopard that attacked him in a wheat field and managed to tie the animal with a rope in Devi Purwa village under Dhaurahara forest range.

The man, Ankul Bhargava, had gone to his field to call someone when he heard a growling sound from the crops. As he approached the spot, he suddenly came face-to-face with a leopard.

Before he could react, the animal attacked him. Bhargava shouted for help while struggling with the leopard. Despite suffering injuries to one of his hands, he managed to overpower the animal and tie it with a rope.

Villagers rushed to the scene after hearing his cries for help and praised his bravery.
