Lalitpur, March 17 -- An anti-corruption team today arrested a revenue official (lekhpal) and his associate in Uttar Pradesh's Lalitpur district while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a farmer.

According to officials, the complainant, Jagannath Sahu, a resident of Baulari hamlet in village Bijrautha under Talbehat tehsil, wanted to change the land use of his agricultural plot for residential and commercial purposes. On February 19, he submitted an application to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Talbehat requesting approval for the conversion.
