Agra, April 6 -- A suspected fraudster was arrested outside the Eklavya Sports Stadium during the ongoing Agniveer recruitment rally, for allegedly attempting to cheat candidates by promising guaranteed selection in exchange for money, police said today.
The recruitment drive, being held from April 1 to 19 in Agra, had already prompted heightened vigilance by Military Intelligence and local police due to concerns about potential middlemen targeting aspirants.
According to officials, the accused, identified as Neeresh, approached candidates outside the stadium claiming he had strong connections within the Army and could ensure their selection. He allegedly demanded Rs 1 lakh to clear the medical examination and Rs 3 lakh for final recruitm...
