Varanasi, June 28 -- The first batch of pilgrims departed from the holy city of Kashi on Sunday for the Amarnath Yatra to have the holy darshan of Baba Barfani.

Under the aegis of the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Seva Samiti, the first group of volunteers and devotees departed for Kashmir from Varanasi Cantt. Railway Station via the Howrah-Amritsar Mail.

On Sunday, a motorcycle rally was also organised by volunteers and residents of Kashi to mark the commencement of the Amarnath Yatra.
