Varanasi, June 7 -- On the occasion of World Bicycle Day, a cycle rally was organized at Banaras Hindu University to promote health and environmental awareness under the "Sunday on Bicycle" and "Healthy India" initiatives.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi flagged off the rally from Mahila Mahavidyalaya Square. A large number of students and teachers participated in the rally.
The Vice Chancellor encouraged the students present about the importance of cycling and environmental protection. He reviewed various slogans and messages and urged them to encourage more people to cycle. The cycle rally passed through IIT Square, past the Computer Centre and concluded at the main entrance of the amphitheater.
