Rae Bareli, April 12 -- In a major breakthrough in the personal loan fraud case linked to the main branch of Bank of Baroda, police have arrested two more accused, including a credit officer.

With these arrests, new layers of the scam are rapidly unfolding.

Earlier, police had already sent five accused - including two couples - to jail in connection with the case, officials confirmed today.

According to officials, a total of 48 personal loan accounts were fraudulently opened at the bank using forged documents. The accused allegedly prepared fake salary slips and appointment letters, and even manipulated Aadhaar card details such as names and addresses to secure loans.
