UP: After the death of their father in Kashi, mother and son also committed suicide by consuming poison

Varanasi, Aug. 11 -- A family from Maharashtra, who had come to the holy city of Kashi for pilgrimage, was struck by grief.

After the death of their father due to illness, the mother and son also committed suicide by consuming poison on Monday evening.

According to police, the bodies of the mother and son were found in a room at a homestay in the Luxa area on Monday night. Preliminary investigations indicate that the two committed suicide by consuming sulphas.

According to police sources, Vishal Mukherjee (56), a businessman from Maharashtra, along with his wife, Jaya Mukherjee (51), and son, Ishaan Mukherjee (25), had come to Kashi on August 5.
