Kaushambi, June 26 -- Five employees of a toll plaza were critically injured when an LPG tanker lost control and collided with a toll plaza here on Friday morning.
The accident occurred at the Sihori toll plaza in the Kokhraj police station area, 16 kilometres from the district headquarters.
Police said the tanker was travelling from Kanpur to Pratapgarh, and the incident occurred during an overtaking attempt. The tanker was travelling at a speed of approximately 60-70 kmph. During this time, the tanker hit a dividing lane and overturned. The driver and conductor jumped out of the vehicle and fled the scene.
After the incident a loud explosion was heard, which was followed by a fire.
