Agartala, Sept. 25 -- Tripura Government is considering using unused tea garden land for industrial, tourism, and development projects to attract investment and meet rising land demand, said Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.
Dr Saha noted growing investor interest in establishing industries and tourism in Tripura, but limited land availability hinders these investments. Out of 12,832 hectares allocated for tea cultivation, only about 6,000 hectares are in use, leaving a large portion unused, which prompted the State Government is looking to repurpose this unused land for development activities where feasible.
