Mumbai, Sept. 12 -- National Stock Exchange (NSE) Managing Director & CEO, Ashish Chauhan, today officially announced that trading of the NSE stock is unlikely to happen on the NSE itself, and no application has been made to allow the NSE's own shares to be traded on the NSE itself.

The statement came even as the NSE is preparing for its recently announced initial public offering (IPO).

Chauhan also stated that the NSE's regulatory responsibilities will also take precedence over its commercial interests.

"We are a regulator first, and then comes business," Chauhan said.

He stated that in case of any future conflict between the regulator and the NSE's business interests, the NSE would always give more importance to its regulatory role. ...
