Sultanpur, April 7 -- An undertrial prisoner accused of murdering his wife allegedly died by suicide inside the district jail late Monday night.
The deceased, identified as Nakched (45), a resident of Charthai village in Dhanpatganj, was found hanging with a plastic rope inside the toilet of his barrack, jail officials disclose on Tuesday.
According to Jail Commandant Pranjal Arvind, the incident occurred around 1:30 am on Tuesday. Nakched had been lodged in jail since March 25 under judicial custody in connection with the murder of his wife, Kusum (42).
