New Delhi, Sept. 11 -- The UK has appointed Lindy Cameron, the current British High Commissioner to India, as head of the Foreign Office-making her the first woman to head the department.
Cameron has been appointed as Permanent Undersecretary at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. She will replace Olly Robbins, who was sacked over the Peter Mandelson scandal.
Arrangements for appointing Lindy's successor as High Commissioner to India will be announced in due course, the British High Commission said.
