Mumbai, Sept. 24 -- Launching a scathing attack on the ruling dispensation, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray accused the state government of total apathy toward Maharashtra's deepening agrarian crisis, dismissing the chief minister's and deputy chief ministers' farm visits as mere photo-ops.
Thackeray asserted that ground-level visits by top leaders and promises of immediate aid are restricted strictly to camera lenses, failing to address the acute reality of parched lands and starving livestock.
Demanding complete transparency, the former chief minister questioned the disbursement status of the previously announced Rs 31,000-crore flood relief package, asking how much financial assistance actually reached farmers' hands.
