New Delhi, Aug. 19 -- Two women arrested for allegedly scamming a 67-year-old man, befriending him online through a dating app and digitally siphoning off Rs 1.3 lakh from his bank accounts, said Police officials on Wednesday.
They said the alleged theft took place as the duo stole the victim's mobile phone during a dinner date, and later used it to make unauthorised UPI transactions worth Rs 1.3 lakh into the account of one of the accused.
An e-FIR was registered on July 25 under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Cyber police station in the South-West district.
