Chennai, March 15 -- Two young girls--both sisters--were drowned in a temple tank after they slipped and fell into it at Keezhputhuppattu village near Marakkanam in Villuppuram district of Tamil Nadu, even as Chief Minister M K Stalin on Sunday condoled their deaths and announced a solatium of Rs three lakhs each to their families.
The deceased girls were identified as Harshini (9) and Kayal (7), daughters of Karthikeyan hailing from the village.
The incident occurred around 5.00 PM on Saturday evening, when the girls, who went to the Temple tank to have a glimpse of it, slippedand fell into it.
