Nahan, Sept. 2 -- Two persons were safely rescued after being stranded in the swollen Roon River in Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur district on Tuesday evening, following a sudden rise in the water level triggered by torrential rains in the upper reaches.
The incident occurred when villager Banarasi took his buffaloes to graze near the river on Tuesday afternoon. A sudden surge in the water level left him stranded in deep water as the river rapidly turned turbulent.
