Kolhapur, June 21 -- Making an important announcement that will give a new boost to the cooperative and sugar industry in western Maharashtra, union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah today announced two major projects worth Rs 3,000 crore for the cooperative sector in the state.
Addressing a public meeting in Ichalkaranji city of the district, he said that an investment of about Rs 1,500 crore will be made in a processing collective project in Kolhapur district, while another Rs 1,500 crore will be invested to revive the closed National Heavy Engineering Cooperative in Pune. State Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his deputy Eknath Shinde were present on this occassion.
