Dharamshala, Aug. 1 -- Two young men riding a motorcycle were injured, one of them critically, in a landslide triggered by falling rocks near Churan Khad in the Daranu area of Dharamshala on Saturday.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred when the two youths were passing through the stretch and large boulders suddenly began rolling down the hillside. A massive rock hit the motorcycle, leaving both riders seriously injured.
Eyewitness and taxi driver Mukesh Mehta said that heavy rocks started falling without warning from the hillside, and one of the boulders landed directly on the motorcycle.
Local residents and taxi drivers rushed the injured to the Zonal Hospital, Dharamshala, in private vehicles.
