Shimla, July 15 -- Two persons, including the conductor of a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus, were killed and several others injured after the vehicle met with an accident near Gartola in Rampur subdivision of Shimla district on Wednesday evening.

The accident occurred around 6.30 pm when the HRTC bus (HP-06A-6454), operating on the Rampur-Khadahan-Kotadhar-Kholighat route, reportedly lost control and crashed near Gartola.

Around 24 passengers were travelling in the bus at the time of the accident.

The deceased were identified as bus conductor Jai Prakash Negi, a resident of Ghadoli village in Nankhari tehsil, and 72-year-old Daku Ram, a resident of Shahdu village in Nankhari tehsil.

Both died on the spot.
