Mumbai, Aug. 23 -- Two persons were killed and five others, including two minor girls, injured after a Ganesh idol fell during an arrival procession in south Mumbai's Bhuleshwar area, civic officials said here on Sunday.
The incident took place on Saturday at around 9.51 pm on Balaram Merchant Road near Kabutarkhana, Jai Ambe Chowk, in south Mumbai, during the arrival 'aagman shobhayatra' of Bhuleshwar Cha Raja.
Soon after receiving the information, teams from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, Mumbai Police, Traffic Police, 108 Ambulance Service and BMC ward staff reached the spot.
The deceased were identified as Sanket Nevse (33), who was declared dead at Reliance Hospital, and Brijesh Hemant Joshi (30), who was declared dead at G.T. Hospital.
