Mumbai, April 7 -- In a late-night firing incident in Navi Mumbai, two young men were injured after unidentified assailants opened fire on them in the Sainath Wadi area of Airoli. Senior Police Inspector Bhalkrishna Sawant of Rabale Police Station said on Tuesday that the attackers fled the scene immediately after the shooting and an investigation is underway.
According to police, the incident took place at Chhatrapati Chawl, where the victims, Sandeep Gawas and Amit Maurya, were standing at the time. The assailants arrived on a motorcycle, fired at the duo, and escaped before they could be apprehended.
