Bahraich, April 27 -- Two drivers were burnt alive after a head-on collision between a DCM vehicle and a trailer on a highway in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district, police said on Monday.

A helper (cleaner) traveling in the trailer sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

According to police, the accident occurred late Sunday night when one of the vehicles attempted to avoid a pickup truck moving on the highway, leading to a powerful collision between the DCM vehicle and the trailer. Both vehicles caught fire immediately after the crash. The drivers were trapped inside their cabins and could not escape, resulting in their deaths due to severe burns.
