Hardoi, April 15 -- A tragic incident was reported from Jalalpur village under Bilgram police station area of Hardoi district, where two men lost their lives, allegedly due to suffocation inside a wheat storage pit, police said on Wednesday.
According to initial reports, the incident took place around 9 PM on Tuesday. Surendra Kumar, husband of the village head (Pradhan), had asked his neighbor Kailash (45), son of Devi Sahay, to clean a wheat storage pit (locally known as "bakhari") built beneath a raised platform near his house.
After entering the pit, Kailash reportedly fell unconscious. On noticing this, Surendra Kumar immediately went inside to help him but also collapsed while attempting the rescue.
