Bhandara, April 1 -- : A tragic incident has come to light from Maharashtra's Bhandara district, where two children drowned in a small water pit, police said on Wednesday.
According to police, the incident occurred on Tuesday in Rongha village of Tumsar tehsil.
The deceased were identified as Chandrakant Roopchand Kumbare (7) and Samarth Sanjay Uike (6). It is being reported that the children had gone to bathe in a small pit near the village, which contained water.
They were searched throughout the night, but no trace of them was found. The next morning, their bodies were discovered in a small pit, police said.
As soon as the incident was discovered, villagers rushed to the spot and informed the authorities.
