Wardha, May 1 -- Two individuals have been booked in Maharashtra's Wardha district for allegedly beheading a goat as part of a ritual sacrifice last month.

According to a statement released by PETA India on Friday, the animal rights organisation stated that the incident occurred on April 9 and was carried out openly in public, with visuals of the act reportedly recorded on video.

Acting on a complaint filed by PETA India along with a local activist, Talegaon police registered a First Information Report (FIR) on April 25 against Babansingh Santoshsingh Bawri and Jonusingh Gotansingh Bawri.
