Kendrapara, June 16 -- Police have arrested two persons in connection with the alleged gang rape of a 17-year-old girl in Odisha's Kendrapara district, Superintendent of Police Siddharth Kataria said on Tuesday.
According to the SP, the accused have been identified as Subham Kumar Nayak (31), also known as Achhuta, Pintu and Akash, and Binod Bihari Mallick (35), both residents of Tarando village under Nikirai police limits.
Police said the case was registered based on an FIR lodged by the victim's 45-year-old mother on Tuesday. In the complaint, she stated that the family, originally from Chhattisgarh, runs a broomstick business near the Kali Temple at Jajanga along the Cuttack-Chandabali State Highway.
