Kolkata, June 1 -- A couple was arrested and another person detained on Monday by police in connection with the deaths of a young man and a woman whose bodies were recovered from a rented flat in South Kolkata's Aurobindo Nagar area.
The bodies of 25-year-old Mohammed Dilshad, a resident of Tiljala's Picnic Garden area, and 21-year-old Mehuli Sanyal of Raja S.C. Mullick Road, were found inside the flat on Sunday afternoon after neighbours alerted the Golf Greeen Police Station when a foul smell began emanating from the apartment.
According to a senior Kolkata Police officer, the flat had been rented by Dilshad in April and the two were believed to have been living there together for the past few months.
