Agartala, Feb. 22 -- A few hours after the abduction, police rescued two persons late last night from Baikhora area in South Tripura district, police said on Sunday.
However, nobody has been arrested so far in connection with the incident.
According to police, the miscreants released them around 1 AM near Sabroom-Agartala National Highway, from which security personnel took them to the police station.
Police recorded their statement, and after a due medical check-up, they were sent to the camp.
The report indicated that there was no link to militant angle in the incident, but suspected that local miscreants, powered by political affiliation, kidnapped them for money, although the victim had yet to confess to any transaction. However, ba...
