Bengaluru, June 29 -- Karnataka Police have launched a multi-team investigation to trace the source of the country-made bomb used in the Tumakuru taxi blast, amid concerns over how an ordinary individual gained access to an improvised explosive device in a case that left one person dead and two others narrowly escaping.

The investigation has shifted focus to the suspected illegal supply of country-made explosives after Nagendra Gowda allegedly abducted a woman from Bengaluru, took her in a hired cab towards Tumakuru and detonated the bomb inside the vehicle on National Highway-48 on June 27, killing himself.
