Belfast, June 26 -- Captain Lorcan Tucker struck a fluent half-century, while Gareth Delany narrowly missed out on one as Ireland posted a competitive 182 for nine against India in the opening T20 International of the two-match series at the Civil Service Cricket Club here on Friday.
Asked to bat after India won the toss, Ireland suffered an early collapse as Harshit Rana ripped through the top order. Ross Adair (12), Harry Tector (0) and Tim Tector (17) were all back in the pavilion by the fourth over, reducing the hosts to 30 for three.
Tucker rebuilt the innings with a composed 50 off 36 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes. Benjamin Calitz contributed 15 before Shivam Dube broke the partnership.
