Tirumala, Sept. 29 -- The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Tuesday announced the cancellation of VIP Break Darshan, except for protocol VIPs, on October 1 and 5 in view of the anticipated surge in pilgrim footfall during the Peratasi month and the ensuing holidays.
In a release, TTD said around 80,000 devotees are currently having darshan of Lord Venkateswara every day, while nearly 30,000 additional devotees arriving daily are being accommodated for darshan on the following day.
The heavy influx has resulted in longer waiting times for ordinary devotees.
To facilitate quicker darshan for a larger number of common devotees, TTD has decided to suspend VIP Break Darshan on the two dates.
