Hyderabad, July 13 -- Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board Member and Andhra Pradesh BJP spokesperson Bhanu Prakash Reddy on Monday strongly objected to Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar's reported remarks on extending opportunities for MLAs, Ministers and Officials to participate in the daily aartis at the Tirumala temple.
In a video statement, Bhanu Prakash Reddy said the honour of participating in the temple rituals is a long-standing tradition accorded to the Maharaja of Mysore and should not be extended to political leaders.
He urged Shivakumar not to politicise the sacred shrine.
