Washington, July 23 -- US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that a newly signed civilian nuclear cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia would be approved only if Riyadh joins the Abraham Accords, adding a fresh condition a day after the deal was signed.

"The signed deal will be approved," Trump wrote on social media, but said it was "totally subject to Saudi Arabia joining the very respected and successful Abraham Accords."The agreement, signed on Wednesday by US Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, aims to establish a framework for U.S. companies to help develop Saudi Arabia's civilian nuclear programme.
