Ankara, July 8 -- US President Donald Trump has once again called for American control of Greenland, arguing that the Arctic island is strategically important for the United States but not for Denmark.
Speaking alongside NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on Wednesday, Trump said the self-governing Danish territory was "very important" for the US, "but it is not important for Denmark."Speaking during the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump claimed Greenland is crucial to US national security and suggested Washington should never have returned the territory to Denmark after World War II.
