Washington, March 20 -- US President Donald Trump has slammed Washington's long-time NATO allies, bluntly dismissing the transatlantic strategic alliance as "a paper tiger" without American military backing, and has further accused member states of failing to support Washington's ongoing efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz post the Iranian blockade.

In a long post on Truth Social on Friday, Trump claimed that the US-Israeli campaign against Iran was now "militarily won", adding that there was now "very little danger" in the region, despite ongoing Iranian missile and drone attacks.
