Ankara, July 7 -- US President Donald Trump arrived in Ankara on Tuesday for the NATO summit amid growing tensions with several European allies over their refusal to support Washington's military campaign against Iran.
For years, Trump has questioned whether NATO allies contribute enough to collective defence, but officials say frustrations intensified after several countries declined to provide military support during the Iran conflict, including access to air bases for US operations and participation in efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
The dispute has fuelled concerns in European capitals that Washington could further scale back its military presence on the continent.
