Agartala, March 17 -- Tripura recorded a significant and alarming rise in cyber crime incidents over the past three years, informed Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Tuesday in the assembly.
Both the number of complaints and the amount of money defrauded have shown a steady increase, raising concerns in administrative circles.
During 2023-24, a total of 2,255 cyber crime complaints were registered across the state, with fraudsters siphoning off over Rs.12.39 crore through various online scams like phishing, fake investment schemes, and digital payment frauds.
