Agartala, May 28 -- Tripura is expected to launch a tea auction center within a month, said Chairman, Tripura Tea Development Corporation (TTDC), Samir Ghosh, here on Thursday.
The establishment of the facility is anticipated to address a longstanding challenge for the state's tea industry, which has so far been strained by the absence of an auction center locally and is fully dependent on Guwahati and Kolkata.
Ghosh highlighted that efforts to bring such a facility to the state have been ongoing for a significant period, and it now seems set to become a reality, benefiting the 52 operational tea gardens scattered across Tripura.
