Agartala, July 17 -- Tripura Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma met with Tarunjit Singh Sandhu, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and Chairman of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), to request the allocation of appropriate land in the national capital for the construction of residential hostels for Scheduled Tribe (ST) students from Tripura who are pursuing higher education in Delhi.

During the meeting, the minister on Friday handed over a formal demarche letter that requested land for establishing a boys' hostel with a capacity of 100 seats and a girls' hostel with a similar capacity in Delhi.
