Agartala, June 2 -- An Indian citizen, hailing from Agartala, identified as Pradip Chandra Pal, was repatriated to India on Monday through Tripura's Khowai border after spending over a year in a Bangladeshi jail.
The handover took place at Paharmura Border Gate, with the involvement of senior officials from the Border Security Force (BSF), Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and police representatives from both countries.
Police said that Pal was detained in Bangladesh 16 months ago for allegedly entering the country without proper travel documents. During his detention, he served his sentence in Habiganj District Jail as per Bangladeshi law.
