Agartala, Feb. 23 -- Railway Police in Assam's Barak Valley, during a special operation on Sunday at Badarpur junction, intercepted a passenger hailed from Tripura carrying gold valued at over Rs 80 lakh and arrested him.
Police here said that the operation took place in Deoghar Weekly Express, where police detained a middle-aged man, identified as Abhijit Debnath. A search uncovered five gold biscuits weighing 584.4 grams.
The accused is from Harichoudhury Para in Ranibazar of eastern Agartala.
