Agartala, Oct. 8 -- Tripura Cabinet has approved free festive ration kits for 9.92 lakh beneficiaries, aimed at providing festive-season support ahead of Durga Puja, cabinet Spokesperson and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said on Thursday.
Under the special initiative, each eligible beneficiary will receive one kg of sugar, two kg of flour and 500 gm semolina free of cost. According to Chowdhury, the distribution is expected to begin around the middle of October, between Durga Puja and Lakshmi Puja.
The government will procure and distribute approximately 243 metric tonnes of semolina, 1,984 metric tonnes of flour and 992 metric tonnes of sugar under the scheme. The estimated expenditure for the festive ration programme is expected t...
