Agartala, July 20 -- The Director General of Police (DGP) for Tripura, Anurag Dhankar, a senior IPS officer, was tragically found dead in the washroom of his office at the Police Headquarters here today.
The incident is suspected to be a case of suicide, and Prof Pradip Bhowmik from Agartala Government Medical College, who attended to the DGP, mentioned that despite efforts to resuscitate him for 48 minutes, they were unsuccessful.
Following protocol, the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death, with preliminary reports indicating that Dhankar was found hanging in the washroom by his orderly after an unusually long period of time.
