Agartala, June 11 -- A local court in Tripura's Khowai district has summoned senior Trinamool Congress leader and Loksabha MP Abhishek Banerjee to appear on June 22 in connection with a case stemming from the aftermath of the 2021 Tripura Assembly election.

Sources indicate that this summons relates to a case filed at the Khowai Police Station. Because direct delivery through standard methods was not possible, the court ordered the summons to be served via legal channels with the help of a court-appointed bailiff. As directed, a bailiff from the Alipore Court in West Bengal was tasked with delivering the summons.
