Agartala, June 20 -- A special court in North Tripura has delivered a verdict in a four-year-old drug trafficking case, sentencing a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for transporting a large quantity of cannabis from Tripura to Assam.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh, with an additional two months of imprisonment in case of non-payment.
The court found accused Cezarul SK, a resident of Murshidabad district in West Bengal, guilty and sentenced him to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 1 lakh. In case of non-payment of the fine, he will have to serve an additional two months in jail.
