Kolkata, March 12 -- West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress on Thursday demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the unpreparedness that has triggered the cooking and commercial gas supply crises, adversely hitting lakhs of people across the country.

"This is a useless government and the prime minister should resign immediately," Trinamool Congress leader Tanmay Ghosh told the media here.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will take part in a protest march from College Square to Dorina Crossing in Central Kolkata on March 16, to highlight what the party calls "the inefficiency of the callous union government".
