Wellington, June 27 -- The Indian Armed Forces today paid solemn tribute to India's first Field Marshal, Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw, on his 18th death anniversary with a dignified Tri-Services wreath laying ceremony at the Parsi Zoroastrian Cemetery in Udhagamandalam (Ooty), in Tamil Nadu where the legendary soldier rests.
Organised jointly by Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) and Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), the ceremony reflected Armed Forces' enduring reverence for one of India's greatest military leaders, whose courage, strategic brilliance and inspirational leadership continue to shape generations of soldiers.
