Nagpur, May 7 -- : A 35-year-old transperson allegedly died by suicide at a government hospital in Maharashtra's Nagpur city on Thursday, nearly a month after undergoing amputation of both legs following a train accident, police said.

The deceased, identified as Radhika Mohan Jadhav, was a resident of Amravati district.

According to police, she allegedly used a bandage cloth to hang herself from her hospital bed inside the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Nagpur.

Police said Radhika earned a living by begging on trains. Last month, she reportedly fell from a moving train and suffered grievous injuries, due to which both her legs had to be amputated.
