New Delhi, June 22 -- The trade deal with the United States (US) is taking a little longer to sign due to the 50 per cent tariff that was imposed on goods from the country, said union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal on Monday.

While speaking at a media conclave, Goyal said, "India aims to gain preferential access through the trade pact with the US."US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and Piyush Goyal to hold two-day talks on the first phase of the bilateral trade agreement.

The US delegation visited India from June 1-4 to finalize the details of the Interim Trade Agreement and take forward the negotiations under the broader Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA).
