Lakhimpur Kheri, April 23 -- A tragic road accident in the Padhua police station area of Lakhimpur Kheri district on Thursday claimed the lives of five people, including two women, three girls and left at least 15 others injured, nine of them critically.
According to officials, more than 150 villagers from the Shardanagar police station area were traveling in two tractor-trolleys to attend a mundan (head-shaving) ceremony at the Karikot Dev shrine in Sujauli, Bahraich. The accident occurred when both trolleys, reportedly overloaded and attached to a single tractor, lost balance.
